Shinhan Bank announced on Sept. 30 that it has donated money to the Korean Armed Forces in honor of the first Military Family Day and is promoting genuine military win-win financing.
On Sept. 27, the Ministry of National Defense held a ceremony at the National Defense Convention in Yongsan-gu, Seoul, to commemorate the first Military Family Day established to thank military families for their sacrifices and hard work.
The headquarters of the Korean Army, Navy and Air Force have held their own events to select and praise exemplary soldiers with their invited families. Shinhan Bank has donated money in support of the events.

The bank provides products and services for Korean military personnel and their families dedicated to serving the country, and promotes win-win financing that truly supports military service members.
In June, the bank launched one-trillion-won Military Win-Win Financial Package for military personnel and military-faithful families who have faithfully completed three generations of active military service, including lowering interest rates and raising limits on military-related loans, launching a preferential deposit and withdrawal account for professional soldiers, and offering preferential loan rates and savings products for military families.
From August to September, the bank provided the Korean Army, Navy, and Air Force with a total of 3,000 tickets to professional baseball games held in Seoul, Incheon, Suwon, Daejeon, Daegu, and Changwon, creating special occasions for military personnel and their families.
In September, Shinhan Bank held the Shinhan Children¡¯s Financial Experience Class, an experiential financial education program for elementary school children of military families to experience banking services such as opening banking accounts, saving, and foreign currency exchanges.
¡°We will step up our efforts to provide various financial products and services that help military personnel and their families dedicated to serving the country,¡± Shinhan Bank official said.
Global Debit Card Exclusively for Foreigners
To commemorate the launch of the SOL Global Check Card for foreigners, Shinhan Bank will hold the ¡°All in One for Your K-life¡± Event for foreigners who received new debit cards and opened bank accounts.
According to Shinhan Bank on Oct. 2, the SOL Global Debit Card is a debit card exclusively for foreigners living in Korea.
It can be issued to any foreign customer over the age of 12 with a foreigner¡¯s registration card.
It offers benefits, such as discounts on public transportation and communication service fees.
Customers can participate in the event through November 30 by signing up for both the SOL Global Debit Card and Shinhan Bank deposit and withdrawal accounts through the Shinhan SOL Bank¡¯ event page on the website of Shinhan Bank.
Event for Vietnamese Students Studying Korean Language in Korea
Shinhan Bank, in collaboration with its local subsidiary Shinhan Bank Vietnam, is organizing an event for Vietnamese students studying the Korean language in Korea.
Shinhan Bank announced on Sept. 27 that it will collaborate with Shinhan Vietnam Bank to organize an event for Vietnamese students studying in Korea.
The event will provide CU convenience store discount coupons to customers who put deposits for studying expenses in Shinhan Vietnam Bank¡¯s K-Study accounts for language students and register accounts in the Vietnam SOL App at Shinhan Bank after arriving in Korea.
Shinhan Bank has also improved the process for Vietnamese language students to get debit cards with their passports to address their inconvenience in making payment in Korea and post-paid transportation cards due to the difficulty of issuing debit cards before receiving their foreigner registration cards in Korea.
