KB Kookmin Bank announced on Nov. 26 that it held the inauguration ceremony for the 24th class of the college student overseas volunteer program, ¡°RaonAtti,¡± on Nov. 25.
RaonAtti is a Korean word meaning ¡°happy friends.¡± KB Kookmin has been running the RaonAtti program since 2008.
This year, KB Kookmin selected 36 talented and passionate college students for the 24th class of RaonAtti.
The 24th batch will carry out various international support activities in four countries — Indonesia, Cambodia, Vietnam, and Thailand.
They will plant trees, support children in need and renovate childcare centers.
The ceremony was a meaningful time to encourage the new volunteers to practice the values of sharing and win-win growth abroad, and inspire their sense of belonging and pride.
¡°I am very happy to have been selected as a member of the KB Bank College Student Overseas Volunteer Corps LaonAtti, which I have wanted to join for a long time,¡± said one of the members selected for the 24th class of RaonAtti.
¡°I will do my best to carry out sharing activities and make it a valuable opportunity to take me to the next level.¡±
Meanwhile, through its flagship social contribution project ¡°KB Dream Wave 2030,¡± KB continues its social contribution activities to support the potential and dreams of youths by providing various customized programs for each stage of growth from preschoolers to university students, focusing on three areas — learning, career, and infrastructure.

Marine Ecosystem Cleanup Activities
On Dec. 4, KB Kookmin Bank announced that it conducted an environmental cleanup activity to collect marine garbage as part of the KB Sea Forest Project.
The KB Sea Forest Project is KB Kookmin Bank¡¯s ESG project to create a sea forest and clean up the environment along the southern coast of the nation.
The activity was held in Busan and Namhae-gun and Sacheon of South Gyeongsang Province.
Through this project, KB Kookmin Bank collected 47 tons of marine debris together with the Sea Greening Movement and Blue Siren which are environment protection groups.
For a week from Oct. 18, they salvaged garbage such as discarded nets, ropes, barrels, and sunken ships from a beach in Sacheon of South Gyeongsang Province, and removed styrofoam fishing gear that had been left on the beach for a long time.
KB Kookmin Protector Awards
KB Kookmin Bank and the National Police Agency announced that they held the 2nd KB Protector Awards at the New KB Kookmin Bank building in Yeouido, Seoul on Nov. 21.
The KB Protector Awards recognizes citizens who have contributed to the prevention of telephone financial frauds and the arrest of criminals.
In October of last year, Kookmin Bank and the National Police Agency signed a business agreement to prevent phone frauds and eradicate crimes.
The award ceremony has been held since last year to raise people¡¯s awareness of voice frauds and spread a culture of prevention against them.
At this year¡¯s ceremony, 10 people were selected based on their contributions to preventing phone frauds and arresting criminals.
These individuals who work as taxi drivers, financial fraud prevention lecturers, and office workers actively prevented such frauds by paying much attention to their surroundings.
The winners took home a letter of appreciation from the chief of the National Policy Agency and a reward of 1 million won from KB Kookmin Bank.
