Shinhan Life announced on Jan. 9 that it held a strategy meeting to sharpen its sales competitiveness in 2025.
The sales strategy meeting was held for three days from Jan. 6 to 8 with approximately 1,300 participants, including President Lee Young-jong and heads of channel business groups and branch managers.
The life insurer announced ¡°Dash to TOP 2, Value-Up and Together!¡± as the slogan for this year¡¯s business strategy and vowed to boost innovation to increasing sales competitiveness.
Shinhan Life will strive to become the most distinguished and fastest growing company through challenges and innovation, while taking aim at mid- to long-term value growth, and attaining the goals of its business plans by differentiating each sales channel, strengthening products and underwriting capabilities and expanding marketing to support sales activities.
¡°We will continue to expand our sales competitiveness innovation that continued over the past two years and actively support sales revitalization by providing specialized and innovative products by channel in a timely manner,¡± said Lee Young-jong, president of Shinhan Life.
¡°Let¡¯s increase the value of new contracts while securing differentiated competitiveness through the expansion of our sales organization, a process improvement and the creation of synergies among channels.¡±
¡°Although we expect a difficult sales environment in 2025, we will do our best to support our sales division so that Shinhan Life will be able to turn a crisis into an opportunity and grow together,¡± Lee added.
MOU with Korea National Park Service for Natural Forests
Shinhan Life announced on Jan. 23 that it signed a business agreement with the Korea National Park Service at Bukhansan National Park Office to restore natural forests in Bukhansan National Park on Jan. 22.
The deal is part of Shinhan Life¡¯s social contribution activities, as the company seeks to collaborate with public institutions to protect ecosystems at national parks and realize carbon neutrality.
At the signing ceremony attended by Song Hyung-keun, chairman of the Korea National Park Service, and Lee Young-jong, president of Shinhan Life, a donation of 100 million won was delivered to fund ecosystem restoration projects such as the demolition of old facilities and forest creation at Bukhansan National Park.
Since 2021, Shinhan Life employees have been actively participating in various activities with public organizations, such as restoring the environment of Anyangcheon Stream in Seoul, planting trees in Hongcheon, Gangwon-do, donating drones for forest protection and planting trees in Omok Park and Hangang Park in Yangcheon-gu, Seoul.
¡°Shinhan Life hopes that this natural forest restoration project with the Korea National Park Service will serve as an opportunity to save ecosystems at national parks and inform many people about the precious value of environmental conservation,¡± a Shinhan Life official said.
Excellent Family-Friendly Company
Shinhan Life announced on Jan. 19 that it was certified as an ¡°excellent family-friendly company¡± by the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family.
The Family Friendly Certification System certifies organizations that run family-friendly systems in an exemplary manner to support employees¡¯ work-life balance.
The main evaluation points include activating parental leave, operating a flexible work system, supporting family care and establishing a culture of going home on time.
The system has a rigorous verification process that includes documents, on-site inspections, employee satisfaction surveys and interviews with employees.
Shinhan Life received high marks for its steady efforts to run various programs to support childbirth, childcare and education, flexible work systems, support for employees and their dependents, and create a family-friendly workplace culture.
As a result, the company will maintain its status as a family-friendly workplace for another three years until 2027.
Shinhan Life has flexible work and leave systems in place to help employees effectively balance their work and personal life.
The life insurer also operates programs to support childbirth and childcare, such as reduced working hours during pregnancy periods, maternity and paternity leaves and special leaves for fertility treatments.
