HD Hyundai Oilbank said the company will supply “XTeer E-Cooling Fluid,” a liquid immersion cooling product, to Naver Cloud.
HD Hyundai Oilbank has been selected as the supplier of a liquid immersion cooling project by Naver Cloud, so the former will supply XTeer E-Cooling Fluid to the latter for a combined four years from 2025 until 2028.
The supplied product will be used in Naver Cloud’s liquid immersion cooling service test project, and its performances will be verified and upgraded.
In 2024, HD Hyundai Oilbank applied for a patent for the liquid immersion cooling product brand “XTeer E-Cooling Fluid” and already developed products available for liquid immersion cooling.
The refinery company obtained the “ElectroSafe” program certification from Green Revolution Cooling (GRC), the world’s largest liquid immersion cooling system company.
GRC, established in 2009, is headquartered om Houston, the United States.
GRC with some 30 kinds of liquid immersion cooling technology patents awards “ElectroSafe” program certificates to facilities built by the company as well as products qualified for liquid immersion cooling.
The certification is evaluated to be the most reliable index in the liquid immersion-cooling-based lucrative market with insufficient certified production specifications.
The liquid immersion cooling technology may reduce cooling costs by 95 percent compared to the conventional air cooling method.
As the AI market is expanding, the heating of data center servers is expected to surge.
As a result, the value of the global liquid immersion cooling market is predicted to surge to 2.7 trillion won by 2031, and if the EV and industrial use of energy storage systems (ESS) rise, the market is forecast to jump to 42 trillion won annually by 2040.
A HD Hyundai Oilbank official said, “With rising concern and demand on liquid immersion cooling products, we will secure an upper hand over the global market through proactive investments and HD Hyundai Oilbank will expand the development of a variety of products using lubricants.”
Meanwhile, HD Hyundai Oilbank, entering the EV lubricant market in a full-fledged fashion, launched the EV lubricant brand “Hyundai XTeer EVF.” Vehicular lubricant oil is responsible for blocking electric current unnecessary inside the car.
In 2024, the refinery company supplied the vehicular lubricant oil “XTeer” to HD Hyundai XiteSolution, making an inroad into the North American lubricant oil market.
