Hana Bank announced on May 2 that it has signed a business agreement with the Association of Vietnamese Residents in Korea, at the Vietnamese Embassy in Jongno-gu, Seoul, on April 29.
The deal mean Hana Bank will provide financial education to Vietnamese residents in Korea and support the activities of the association.
The Association of Vietnamese Residents in Korea is a community organization of Vietnamese migrants living in Korea, which serves as a place for overseas Vietnamese to share their nostalgia and happiness for life in Korea, and promotes exchanges between Korea and Vietnam.

Through this MOU, Hana Bank and the Association of Vietnamese Residents in Korea will cooperate in promoting financial inclusion for foreign customers by providing economic and financial education to Vietnamese residents in Korea, providing a stable stay environment through cultural exchanges, supporting multicultural families with Vietnamese mothers and providing customized financial products and services.

In the meantime, Hana Bank has provided a wide array of financial services for foreign customers in Korea, including Sunday business hours at 16 Hana Bank branches near areas teeming with foreign workers, such as Uijeongbu, Ansan, Gimhae, and Cheonan, and a specialized mobile app, Hana EZ, which is available in 16 languages for foreign customers.
Launch of HUG Rental Security Deposit Guarantee
Hana Bank announced that it will hold a promotion to sign up for HUG Rental Security Deposit Guarantee, a rental insurance policy that all landlords must purchase.
HUG stands for Korea Housing & Urban Guarantee Corporation.
HUG Rental Security Deposit Guarantee is a rental insurance product of HUG.
It is mandatory for landlords to sign up for so that tenants can live in private rental housing without worrying about losing security deposits under the Special Act on Private Rental Housing.
Landlords can sign up for this service through Hana Bank¡¯s mobile app, Hana OneQ.
By signing up for HUG Rental Security Deposit Guarantee, HUG will be responsible for returning rental security deposits to tenants if their landlords become unable to return security deposits to the tenants.
Hana Bank is offering 20,000-won Shinsegae gift certificates to landlords who sign up for HUG Rental Security Deposit Guarantee through its mobile app, Hana OneQ.
The promotion will run until the end of September. You can apply for the promotion after signing up for HUG Rental Security Deposit Guarantee.
Hana Bank¡¯s guarantee is available for apartment buildings, residential office buildings, townhouses, and multiplex houses.
POS Terminals for Small Business Owners
Hana Bank announced that it will hold a promotion to support the purchase of point-of-sale (POS) machines for small business owners together with Payhere to support their new starts.
The promotion was organized by Hana Bank to support the start of small business owners¡¯ new businesses and ease their financial burdens.
The promotion targets new small business founders whose business registration certificates have opening dates within three months at the time of application.
After purchasing POS terminals, they have to connect their Hana Bank merchant payment accounts to Hana The SOHO Channel in the Hana Bank mobile app.
When payments to merchants are deposited, Payhere will give the merchants 30,000-won gifticons.
