Industrial Bank of Korea (IBK) announced that the bank signed a comprehensive financial support agreement to respond to changes in the global trade environment and will distribute 1 trillion won in financial support with Korea Credit Guarantee Fund (KODIT) and Korea Technology Finance Corp. (KOTEC).

The singing took place at its headquarters in Jung-gu, Seoul on June 13.

This business agreement is part of a joint project between IBK and the guarantee institutions.

It aims to activate policy finance, to mitigate the impact of changes in the global trade environment, strengthen Korea¡¯s national competitiveness, and turn the current crisis into a new opportunity.

Through the MOU, IBK will provide 38.4 billion won in special contributions to secure credit guarantees to support the resolution of customs-related issues, the expansion of exports, the diversification of export destinations and securing of raw materials.

Additionally, to reduce financial costs for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), it will provide guarantee fees and an interest rate cut of up to 1.3 percentage points.

The MOU signing ceremony held on June 13 was attended by Kim Sung-tae, president of IBK, Choi Won-mok, president of KODIT and Kim Jong-ho, president of KOTEC who promised to collaborate in supporting SMEs.

¡°This business agreement is particularly meaningful as the three institutions, which are the backbone of Korea¡¯s SME policy finance, banded together to overcome Korea¡¯s national economic issues,¡± IBK President Kim said.

¡°IBK will take the lead in helping SMEs resolve problems through close cooperation with other policy finance institutions.¡±

Launch of I-Climate Companion Card

IBK announced on May 29 that it launched ¡°I-Climate Companion Card¡± in partnership with the Seoul Metropolitan Government to promote public transportation and enhance convenience.

Unlike existing prepaid cards, the I-Climate Companion Card is a postpaid transportation credit card that allows unlimited use of Seoul¡¯s mass transit system, such as the subway, buses, and bike-sharing services, without the need to pay separately for those services. Users must register their credit cards on T-money Website.

IBK¡¯s I-Climate Companion Card included various convenient services that can be useful in people¡¯s daily lives. First, it offers a 0.5 percent discount on all domestic merchant spending, without any monthly spending requirements or limits.

Additionally, if an I-Climate Companion Card user spends over 500,000 won in the previous month, you can enjoy a 1 percent discount in major spending categories such as online shopping, TV home shopping, food delivery services, supermarkets, coffee shops, convenience stores, mass transit services, gas station services, telecommunications service charges and pet care services.

Hanam City Job Fair

IBK announced that the bank had successfully held the 2025 Hanam City Job Fair on June 11.

The event was attended by Lee Hyun-jae, mayor of Hanam City; Kim Sung-tae, president of IBK; Yang Seung-jun, director of the Seongnam Branch of the Ministry of Employment and Labor; and other officials from related agencies, who encouraged job seekers in their quest for employment.

A total of 80 companies, including reputable small and medium-sized enterprises, mid-sized companies, and large corporation affiliates, participated in the fair, with over 2,000 job seekers visiting the site to add to the excitement.

Notably, customized job support programs for vulnerable employment groups such as middle-aged and older adults, discharged military personnel, and women with career gaps, as well as a special booth for military service exemptions for science and technology talent, drew significant attention.

In addition to job counseling and interviews, the job fair featured practical programs such as job seminars, talk shows with the participation of citizens and conferences on financial planning and retirement strategies.

¡°I gained great courage from seeing companies welcoming middle-aged people in various fields at the job fair,¡± said a middle-aged job seeker who visited the job fair. ¡°I look forward to starting a new chapter in my life through re-employment.¡±

¡°This fair was a meaningful starting point for beginning a new future for Hanam citizens,¡± IBK President Kim said.
