Woori Financial Group¡¯s Woori Financial Research Institute have launched Korea's first comprehensive information portal dedicated to climate finance, the Climate Finance Portal (www.climatefinance.co.kr).

The newly launched Climate Finance Portal is structured into four sections - News and Policy, Research, Market, and Media Selection.

It is characterized by its comprehensive provision of climate finance-related information.

In particular, the ¡®News and Policy¡¯ Section curates and updates daily news from major domestic and international media outlets and international organizations.

It also provides summaries written by the institute to help readers quickly understand key points.

The Woori Financial Management Research Institute has been benchmarking best practices from overseas financial companies and accumulating research capabilities through the operation of the ¡°Climate Finance Forum,¡± an internal research group.

Additionally, it has been actively collaborating with policy authorities, including participation in the Financial Services Commission's Climate Finance Task Force.

With the launch of the Climate Finance Portal, the Woori Financial Management Research Institute will systematically present major domestic and international issues, regulatory trends, and climate finance response cases to actively support the financial sector's proactive response to climate risks and capture new business opportunities.

¡°Climate change is an issue that can only be resolved through joint efforts made by all members of our society,¡± said Park Jeong-hoon, director of the Woori Financial Management Research Institute.

¡°We expect the Climate Finance Portal to become a venue for substantive discussions, going beyond the level of being an information service provider.¡±

Meanwhile, Woori Financial Group is supplying ESG finance with a target of 100 trillion won by 2030 and continues its climate response activities such as participating in the East-West Trail Construction Project and promoting the Cambodia Forest Conservation Project.

As a result, in December 2024, it was included in the top group in the Morgan Stanley Capital International (MSCI) ESG evaluation and the Bloomberg ESG evaluation, and was also included in the S&P 2024 Dow Jones DJSI World Index, thereby achieving a triple crown in global ESG evaluations.

Dream Round for Young Golfers

Woori Financial Group announced on May 30 that it donated funds to improve young golfer training conditions in a signboard hanging ceremony for ¡°Woori Financial Dream Round¡± at Jihyeon Elementary School in Pocheon, Gyeonggi-do, on May 29.

Woori Financial Dream Round is a social contribution program by Woori Financial Group to support the growth of local elementary school students with talent and passion for golf.

Dream Round was held as an event for the 2025 Woori Financial Championship in April. It drew much attention with the participation of 36 KPGA professional golfers and 72 young amateur golfers.

The signboard hanging ceremony was attended by Woori Financial Group officials, Jihyeon Elementary School faculty members and personnel and students who celebrated the launch of the golfer development program.

Woori Financial donated funds to be used for improving golf education facilities and training, enabling students to train in a better environment.

Lee Young-shin, principal of Jihyeon Elementary School, expressed gratitude, saying, ¡°Through the Dream Round, our students have been given the opportunity to challenge themselves in the new field of golf. If such opportunities continue, more children will gain confidence and make their dreams come true.¡±

¡°At first, golf seemed difficult, but after participating in Woori Financial Dream Round, I found golf more fun and made up my mind to play golf better,¡± said Koh Eun-chan, a sixth grader at Jihyeon Elementary School who participated in Dream Round.

¡°I want to become a successful professional golfer someday.¡±

¡°We were deeply moved to see the young golfers¡¯ growing interest in golf and their aspirations to become professional golfers through their participation in Dream Round,¡± said a Woori Financial Group official.

¡°Going forward, Woori Financial Group will continue to run programs aimed at supporting young golfers and nurturing future generations across schools nationwide.¡±
