Korean Standards Association (KSA) held the 2025 Korean Innovation Frontier Awards ceremony at Lotte Hotel in Sogong-dong, Seoul, on June 24, where grand prizes were awarded to the 26 products and services of nine companies in recognition of their excellent innovation outcomes.
The New Technology Innovation Grand Prize went to the five products and services of three companies – “Bespoke AI Hybrid Kitch Fit Max” of Samsung Electronics, “Bespoke AI Hybrid Z 400W” of Samsung Electronics, “Coway Icon Pro” of Coway, “Coway BEREX Triple Chair” of Coway and “LG Tromm AI Objet Collection Wash Tower” of LG Electronics.
KB Financial Group was honored with the Social Value/ESG Innovation Grand Prize in recognition of promoting social values and ESG innovation for the 3rd straight year.
The Management Innovation Grand Prize was presented to Korea Innovation Foundation and Daewon Mechatronics.
The Convergence Innovation Grand Prize was awarded to voice-based user customized home appliance experience of Samsung Electronics.
The Service Innovation Grand Prize went to Samsung Food, “Bespoke AI Hybrid” (AI Home) of Samsung Electronics, “Bespoke AI Combo” of Samsung Electronics, “Bespoke AI Air Combo” of Samsung Electronics and “Bespoke AI Dish Washer” of Samsung Electronics.
KSA aims to promote the private sector’s lead in innovation practices and make them driving forces behind the growth of the national economy through the Korean Innovation Frontier Awards.
Companies which have realized innovation prioritizing customer experiences based on AI and digital technologies were been highlighted.
The KSA’s Moon Dong-min said, “2025 award winner companies have created new values through innovative combinations of AI/digital technology and customer experiences, and the KSA will strive to build a new growth foundation for the Korean economy by aggressively exploring innovation companies in each sector and supporting them in the years to come.”
‘Successful Combination of Digital and Customer Experiences Standing Out’
Like Last year, the 2025 Korean Innovation Frontier Awards were selected in six categories, including new technology and convergence, service, social value/ESG and management innovation, KSA Chmn. Moon said.
“The winning companies are characterized by the successful convergence of innovation based on digital technologies with AI and customer experience. Such innovation is no longer an outlier, but a key strategy for survival and growth. Companies that respond to changes in advance are most likely to be leaders of future industries. I would like to praise all winning companies which have strived to nurture future values through endless innovation, rather than resting on the reality,” he said.
Specifically, Chmn. Moon said, the New Technology Innovation Grand Prize went to Samsung Electronics and LG Electronics, which have met consumers’ needs by releasing products with exclusive technologies.
Korea Innovation Foundation was awarded the Management Innovation Grand Prize, representing the public sector, while the award was presented to Daewon Mechatronics in the company category.
Samsung Electronics was awarded the Convergence Innovation Grand Prize in recognition of enabling intuitive communication with home appliances through advanced voice recognition technologies.
The company has been evaluated to have completed preparations for realizing a vision on “AI home.”
Samsung Food of Samsung Electronics was honored with the Service Innovation Grand Prize in recognition of its platform service for all-in-one food experiences based on digital AI.
The Social Value/ESG Innovation Grand Prize went to KB Financial Group, which took home the honor for the 3rd consecutive year.
The financial group has been focused on a possibility of nurturing a sustainable future and growing together with society beyond financial fundamentals under the catchphrase “Finance Chang the World.”
The Product Innovation Grand Prize was presented to 15 diverse and innovative products leading each industry. LG Electronics, Samsung Electronics and SNV have won the prize.
They demonstrated innovative values of innovative products. Middle-market enterprises, such as Saeromtech and Core demonstrated outstanding performances, KSA Chmn. Moon said.
