Samsung SDS has been selected as a first premium ¡°Rise with SAP¡± supplier from Korea by SAP.
Samsung SDS President & CEO Lee June-hee struck a ¡°Rise with SAP¡± premium supplier partnership pact with SAP CEO Christian Klein at SAP¡¯s headquarters in Waldorf, Germany, on July 2.
Under the partnership deal, Samsung SDS will provide SAP¡¯s enterprise resource planning (ERP) consulting, implementation and operation services on the Samsung Cloud Platform.
In general, SAP offers cloud infrastructure, operation and ERP implementation services through each different partner. If a premium supplier is selected, it can supply all the services on its own.
Samsung SDS has obtained premium supplier status, as the company was recognized for its capabilities in providing top-tier cloud infrastructure, cloud implementation and operation, security services and its acquisition of public-sector security certification.
Samsung SDS plans to implement the SCP-based ERP migration project targeting not only companies wanting to introduce cloud-based ERPs but also customers in the public and financial sectors.
SAP CEO Klein said SAP will accelerate business transformation by offering the world¡¯s top-tier cloud-based ERP services to Korean customers.
Samsung SDS CEO Lee said, ¡°We will support corporate customers¡¯ business innovation by offering the world top-level cloud ERP services, ranging from cloud to ERP consulting, implementation and operation.¡±
Samsung SDS Recognized as No. 1 Cloud Service Provider in Korea
Samsung SDS was recognized as the top cloud service provider in Korea.
According to the Korea Managed Cloud Services Market Share 2023 report, released by the global IT market intelligence firm IDC, Samsung SDS secured the No. 1 position.
The company also ranked second, and first among domestic players, in the Korea Public Cloud Services Market Share 2023, solidifying its position as an undisputed No. 1 cloud service provider in Korea.
IDC analyzes market share and the competitive landscape of cloud service providers, mainly focusing on their business performance, and releases market share reports.
IDC announced that Samsung SDS ranked No. 1 with a 23.9% market share in its assessment of MSPs in Korea.
This is a new assessment performed for the first time. MSPs efficiently manage corporate customers¡¯ cloud usage and provide them with related services, including network and infrastructure management, security, and monitoring.
Samsung SDS Announces First-Quarter 2025 Financial Results
Samsung SDS unveiled its preliminary financial results for the first quarter of 2025, posting revenue of 3.4898 trillion won and an operating profit of 268.5 billion won.
Compared to the same period last year, the company¡¯s revenue and operating profit rose by 7.5% and 18.9%, respectively.
Revenue from the IT service sector was 1.6004 trillion won, up 3% from the same period last year.
Revenue from the cloud business rose 23% YOY, recording 652.9 billion won. Cloud revenue accounted for over 40% of total revenue in the IT services business for the first time.
Among the cloud businesses, the Samsung Cloud Platform (SCP)-based CSP business witnessed 42% growth YOY thanks to increases in the high-performance computing (HPC) service, the expansion of the cloud network service, and the expansion of the public-private partnership (PPP)-based public cloud service project for the Daegu Center of the National Information Resources Service (NIRS).
The managed service provider (MSP) business grew 12% YOY. This is thanks to cloud migration and implementation for financial and retail companies; and the expansion of global enterprise resource planning (ERP) and supply chain management (SCM) businesses.
