Woori Financial Group announced its first half 2025 business results on July 25.

The financial institution racked up cumulative net income of 1,551.3 billion won for the first half. Despite a challenging business environment marked by increased global uncertainties and a slowdown in the Korean economy, the financial group once again demonstrated its stable profit-generating capabilities based on balanced growth across both banking and non-banking divisions.

Woori Financial Group¡¯s second-quarter net profit increased by approximately 300 billion won from the previous quarter to 934.6 billion won, driven by further improvements in Woori Bank¡¯s net interest margin (NIM) and the robust growth of its fee income.

The financial group¡¯s common equity tier 1 ratio is expected to improve by approximately 63bp from the end of 2024 to 12.76%. This is the result of the company¡¯s focus on strengthening capital adequacy through asset rebalancing and a growth strategy centered on return on risk-weighted assets (RORWA) based on Woori Chairman Lim Jong-ryong¡¯s firm commitment to enhancing corporate value.

The financial group expects to reach its year-end target of 12.5% and that accelerate its progress toward the 13% target.

In addition, the Woori Financial Group Board of Directors decided today to maintain a stable shareholder return policy by setting the second quarter dividend at 200 won per share, the same as the first quarter, based on its quarterly equal dividend policy.

¡°Woori Financial Group increased its market confidence as a result of focusing on strengthening soundness and improving capital ratios in response to internal and external uncertainties such as mutual tariffs in the first half of the year,¡± a Woori Financial Group official said.

¡°Woori Financial Group was the only major financial holding company to see an increase in foreign buying in the first half of this year, with its stock price hitting a record high. In the second half of the year, with the completion of our comprehensive financial group through the incorporation of Tongyang Life Insurance and ABL Life Insurance, we expect the financial group¡¯s revenue base to be further strengthened through the balanced growth of the banking and non-banking sectors and full-scale synergies between group affiliates.¡±

Woori Financial Group¡¯s Woori Financial Future Foundation opens the ¡®Goodwill Store¡¯s Milal Ansan Sangrok Branchin in Ansan, Gyeonggi-do with the attendance of Jang Gwang-ik, secretary-general of the Woori Financial Future Foundation on July 25.
