The Gyeonggi-do provincial government and the Gyeonggi Tourism Organization (GTO) will hold the Gyeonggi Sea Drone Show at the Wavepark area in Siheung Turtle Island from Aug. 15 to Aug. 16.
The show will take place as part of the cultural events celebrating the 80th anniversary of Korea¡¯s Liberation Day.
The show will be a large multimedia performance in which the summer skyline of Gyeonggi-do is decorated with a swarm of 1,500 drones, a world record. Spectators will be given the chance to enjoy a fantastic combination of music, fireworks and light.

On Liberation Day, the show will be held under the theme ¡°The Light We¡¯ve Recovered True and Right.¡± On Aug. 16, the show will take place under the theme ¡°The Sea that First Greets the Coming Night.¡± It will coincide with a smoke air show and a ground fireworks show.
Furthermore, the Gyeonggi Sea Drone Show will feature pre-show programs, such as LED drone dance, Korean dance illuminated by light, the Korean traditional music band ¡°Noreummachi,¡± and a traditional Korean music a cappella performance.
The show will showcase a variety of experiences, including firework drones, as a hands-on festival for people of all ages.
Dir.-Gen. Park Rae-hyeok of the Culture and Sport Bureau at the Gyeonggi-do provincial government, said, ¡°Gyeonggi-do¡¯s Four Seasons of Culture is the province¡¯s representative culture festival brand, designed to help provincial residents enjoy a variety of culture and art throughout the four seasons The show is expected to not only reinvigorate the regional economy, but contribute to boosting tourism demand.¡±
GTO President Cho Won-yong said, ¡°The drone show, celebrating Liberation Day in a cool sea of Gyeonggi-do in a hot summer, is a culture and art festival that blends the meaning and emotional moments of the 80th anniversary of Liberation Day, and as many spectators are expected to come, visitors are advised to use public transportations means for the smooth progress of the event and safety.¡±

GTO Organizes ¡®2025 Gyeonggi MICE Day¡¯
The Gyeonggi-do provincial government and Gyeonggi Tourism Organization hosted the ¡°2025 Gyeonggi MICE Day¡± at 111CM, a multicultural space in Suwon, on June 18.
MICE stands for Meetings, Incentives, Conventions and Exhibitions/Events. The significance of the industry, attracting large numbers of tourists, is growing more and more.
The event, held under the theme ¡°Mice and Rest,¡± was designed to provide beneficial and practical information to participants by incorporating wellness elements, going beyond the conventional format of a briefing session.
It showcased lectures on wellness, operated an aroma experience booth, introduced the provincial government¡¯s steps to support MICE and held other diverse programs.
There were also one-on-one business consultation sessions for about 100 attendees, who included academic and society organizers, MICE industry officials and related organization officials.
Prof. Kim Kyung-il of Ajou University Psychology Department, gave a lecture under the theme ¡°To Those Struggling with People More Than Their MICE work – Building Relationships with Emotional Strength.¡±
He offered practical advice on relieving work stress and restoring relationships.
A video in which working GTO officials introduced key points of the provincial government¡¯s steps to support the MICE industry and other specifics on venues.
Participants shared information on the province¡¯s MICE venues and their practical use examples.
The one-on-one business consultation session were attended by 14 venue and related organizations.
The session served as an opportunity to share information on the latest facilities related to the MICE industry and MICE incentive systems and ramp up networking.
A GTO official said, ¡°The event, which took place at 111CM, the province¡¯s unique venue, served as an opportunity to look at the practical use of the venue firsthand and we will not spare efforts to promote the province¡¯s MICE infrastructure and urge academic and society as well as industry officials to select Gyeonggi-do as their preferred venues.¡±
