Heads of state from major countries, including Korean President Lee Jae-myung, U.S. President Donald Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping, are assembling at Gyeongju, while some 1,700 global business leaders, including Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang tour Gyeongju to discuss the future of the global economy.

The APEC 2025 Korea has raised its curtain with APEC Concluding Senior Officials¡¯ Meeting (CSOM) at Gyeongju on Oct. 27.
The Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) is a regional economic forum established in 1989 to leverage the growing interdependence of the Asia-Pacific.
APEC's 21 members aim to create greater prosperity for the people of the region by promoting balanced, inclusive, sustainable, innovative, and securing growth accelerating regional economic integration. Twenty-one APEC member countries account for 61 percent of the world¡¯s total GDP.
The Korean government includes AI and demographic changes as part of its agenda, the first APEC meeting to do so, and it strives to deal with pending issues facing not only APEC member countries, but also the world.

KCC Chmn. Chey Chairs APEC CEO Korea Summit
Korean major conglomerate leaders, including Chmn. Chey Tae-won of SK Group, who is concurrently chairman of the Korea Chamber of Commerce & Industry, Samsung Electronics Lee Jay-yong, Hyundai Motor Group Chmn. Chung Eui-sun, LG Group Chmn.
Koo Kwang-mo, and Hanwha Group Vice Chmn. Kim Dong-kwan also converged on Gyeongju.
Chmn. Chey oversees all events of the summit, such as an evening welcoming dinner on Oct. 28, and he will deliver an opening speech and a closing speech.
Samsung Electronics Chmn. Lee, Hyundai Motor Group Chmn. Chung and LG Group Chmn. Koo did not give a lecture, but they are to meet with heads of state of major countries and business leaders.
Eyes are on Nvidia CEO Huang¡¯s meeting with Samsung Electronics Chmn. Lee and SK Chmn. CEO Chey on ways of promoting cooperation between Nvidia, leader of the AI industry, and Samsung Electronics¡¯ semiconductor sector, plus SK Hynix¡¯s leader of the HBM market.
