KOTRA Ramps Up ¡®Strong Buttress¡¯ for Export Logistics
Operates 302 logistics centers in 80 countries, offers up to 12 million won in logistics support

Amid rapidly changing global logistics environmental conditions, the Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA) is intensifying global logistics support so Korean companies can handle logistics smoothly abroad. 

KOTRA had been recruiting company beneficiaries of the 2026 Joint Overseas Logistics Center Project until Dec. 23. 

The project involves the provision of support for SMEs and middle market enterprises¡¯ operation of logistics in all export processes, ranging from storing to delivering, based on 302 logistics centers in 80 countries.

The 2026 Joint Overseas Logistics Center Project is a service program in which SMEs find it hard to establish their own logistics can jointly use warehouses owed by KOREA¡¯s local cooperative logistics companies.

The project focuses on companies¡¯ stable exports amid changing global logistics environmental conditions. When companies use a ¡°safety inventory¡± to store products in local warehouses, they can prevent a delay of on-time delivery occurring abroad and stabilize the supply of products. 

Company beneficiaries can receive one-stop, on-the-spot services on for logistics processes, such as simple depositories, storage/retrieval, packaging, labelling, customs clearance and return processing. 

KOTRA has been increasing the number of joint overseas logistics centers to cover more regions. 

The number of joint overseas logistics centers in operation surged from 21 in 22 countries in 2019 to 302 in 80 countries in 2025. 

The figure is to be expanded to 320 in 2026. The step is expected to help Korean companies utilize logistics centers in a more stable fashion in each region around the world. 

Beneficiaries can receive the service until Oct. 31, 2026, and they are given logistics support worth up to 12 million won. 

KOTRA is ramping up logistics services for K-consumption items, such as beauty, food and fashion products that enjoy popularity globally by inaugurating 10 K-consumption logistics desks on top of B2C logistics services for e-Commerce export companies. 

KOTRA has been expanding ¡°export logistics cooperation networks¡± in which companies can use in connection with joint overseas logistics centers.


KOTRA Successfully Wraps Up Korean Brand & Entertainment Expo 2025 in ASEAN, ¡®Birthplace of Hallyu¡¯

The Ministry of Trade, Industry and Resources (MOTIR) and KOTRA held the Korean Brand & Entertainment Expo 2025 at the Sunway 1Pyramid Convention Centre (SPCC) in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, from Dec. 11 to Dec. 13. 

The latest event attracted some 300 Korean and international companies as well as almost 20,000 spectators.

The ASEAN is the main region in which hallyu is all the rage on top the Chinese economic sphere. In reality, the ASEAN is Korea¡¯s third largest market of exports for its top four consumption products, such as cosmetics, foods, daily items and fashion/apparel following China and the United States. 

An overseas hallyu survey in 2025 showed that the top three in the K-content consumption portion were ASEAN countries.
 
KOTRA said the global top four consumption product exporters were China with $6.23 billion, the United States with $6.06 billion and Japan with $3.65 billion. 


KOTRA: ¡®Keywords of 2026 Global Markets are Supply Chains, AI and Consumption Items¡¯

KOTRA said on Dec. 16 that the restructuring of supply chains in the economic security perspective, global AI paradigm shift and the spreading of K-consumption products will be highlighted in the global market for next year. 

The MOTIR and KOTRA held the ¡°2026 Global Market Entry Strategy Explanation Session¡± at COEX in Seoul on Dec. 16 and presented opportunities related to each sphere of the global market for 2026 and market entry strategies for Korean companies. 

The Global Market Entry Strategy Explanation Session, the 27th rendition, was attended by all chiefs of KOTRA¡¯s 10 overseas regional headquarters which shared on-the-site information. 

KOTRA told the session, as the importance of economic security is rising, the United States, EU and Japan have been building their own supply chains with a focus on advanced industries, such as semiconductors and batteries. 

The United States has lured companies and allied countries¡¯ firms to make direct investments and rebuild manufacturing capacity, with a focus on advanced industries, such as semiconductors, bio and AI. 

Lee Keum-ha, head of the North American Region Headquarters, said, ¡°Korean companies have been recognized as a core partner of rebounding the manufacturing industry in the United States, and now is the appropriate time for entering the supply chains.¡±
