KEPCO KDN held an event to exchange renewable energy-based ¡°prosumer¡± technology with a French delegation at the FKI Tower in Yeouido, Seoul, on April 3.

KEPCO KDN and Energy-Pool, a member of the French delegation, exchanged views on prosumer technology and other topics.

The event was part of the celebration of the 140th anniversary of the establishment of Korean-French diplomatic relations by the French corporate delegation, who accompanied French President Emmanuel Macron on an official visit to Korea.

Officials from the two companies, including President Kim Seong-chul of KEPCO KDN Power ICT Research Institute, and Alan Dardy, APAC Regional Director with Energy-Pool, participated in the event.

They shared the respective companies¡¯ technology and operation examples.

KEPCO KDN introduced its experiences in Korea¡¯s power ICT and power grid operation, distributed power- and prosumer-based power grid operation and technology research outcomes, and cases connected with the government¡¯s carbon neutrality and energy transition policies.

The Energy-Pool side shared the optimal operation of renewable energies, demand response business technologies and participation, and the operation in the energy market in France, Europe, Asia-Pacific regions.

The event served as an opportunity for both sides to confirm common concern over the renewable energy and prosumer technology sectors and expect further, expanding the potential for promoting cooperation in the energy sector.

A KEPCO KDN official said, ¡°This technology exchange is a significant opportunity for KEPCO KDN to introduce its own energy ICXT solutions and for both companies to confirm their renewal energy and prosumer technology power as well as their common concerns. With the exchange event, we will devote ourself to exploring global energy new business models and contributing to achieving national carbon neutrality goals.¡±

KEPCO KDN Cooperates on Intelligent Robot Security Technology Development with National Security Research Institute

KEPCO KDN held an exchange event to promote cooperation on robot security technology development with the National Security Research Institute (NSR).

The exchange, held on April 3, was designed to take preemptive steps to cope with threats to the security of the rapidly changing industry robot ecosystem and secure a security technology advantage.

In particular, safety in the industry sector has emerged as a major issue amid AI innovation in the energy industry.

The introduction of robots has been accelerated for missions in dangerous areas in which workers find it difficult to have access.

But with the more use of robots, riskier cyber threats such as system disruption, caused by hacking, has emerged as a threat to the safety of national infrastructure.

Both sides shared the need to establish the characteristics of the operation of robots and customized security technologies corresponding to global standards.

They focused on ways of promoting practical technology exchanges to raise the safety of power equipment, which is considered national core infrastructure.

The cooperation sectors they discussed included establishing security standard guidelines applicable to the robotics environment, robot control and communication sector encryption technology development, and the establishment of a cyber danger detection and response regime.

KEPCO KDN Becomes 1st Public Entity to Have Verified ¡®Generative AK-Base Security Control Services¡¯

KEPCO KDN has completed the verification of the security control services it developed by making the most of a generative AI technology, and put them into full use.

KEPCO KDN¡¯s verification of ¡°generative AI-based security control services¡± ushered an era of security control intelligence, in which security control jobs are covered by the wider use of AI.

It is the first example of a public entity commercializing a combination of a big data platform and real-time danger information with generative AI.

At the center of the verification is the establishment of closed-network large language model (LLM), designed to block the outside leak of data.
