LS ELECTRIC is proving its strong competitiveness and long-term growth momentum in the global power infrastructure market by announcing a series of large-scale orders in the North American datacenter market.
LS ELECTRIC announced on May 20 that it has signed a contract to supply high-voltage switchgear for microgrid power supply infrastructure at a datacenter in the United States.
The contract is worth approximately USD 64 million, or about KRW 96 billion, and the project period runs from this December through August of next year.
LS ELECTRIC plans to supply 38kV-class high-voltage switchgear solutions on schedule to enable flawless, 24/7 power operation at the datacenter.
Recently, electricity consumption has surged, particularly in North America, due to the spread of AI and the advancement of cloud services.
As a result, efforts are continuing to maximize the energy efficiency of data centers.
Against this backdrop, the market for microgrids—which independently generate, store, and consume electricity—as well as the high-efficiency direct current-based power ecosystem, is seeing explosive growth worldwide.
LS ELECTRIC is actively responding to the continuously growing demand for large-scale power infrastructure expansion in North America with locally tailored solutions optimized for the advancement of data center power grids.
In particular, the company plans to proactively respond to shifts in the global power paradigm, including energy efficiency businesses centered on DC distribution, in order to solidify its position as a major supplier and increase its market share.
LS ELECTRIC is also strengthening its portfolio for long-term business expansion.
The company is shaping a mid- to long-term strategy to elevate its business structure from solution manufacturing and delivery—such as high-end power equipment distribution and order-based switchgear supply—into a total smart power energy provider linked with renewable energy and gas power generation.
An LS ELECTRIC official said, "The key to power supply for AI datacenters is a high-efficiency power grid capable of handling massive electricity consumption, along with uninterrupted stability.
Leveraging our technological capabilities proven through consecutive orders, we will establish a solid position in the rapidly growing local microgrid market."

LS ELECTRIC Lands 300 Billion Won Big-Tech Datacenter Power Solutions Project
LS ELECTRIC is once again drawing attention as a key player in North America's power infrastructure super cycle, after succeeding in a series of large orders in the North American datacenter market.
LS ELECTRIC announced on April 29 that it signed a distribution solutions supply contract worth about 319 billion won ($220 million) with global power company Bloom Energy.
LS ELECTRIC will supply a full range of key distribution systems - including switchgear and transformers - for the power infrastructure construction project of a hyperscale datacenter being developed in New Mexico by a major local big-tech company, as part of Bloom Energy's project.
This is widely seen as significant in that, amid the combination of expanding datacenter investment by global big-tech companies driven by the spread of the AI industry and growing demand for power infrastructure expansion in the U.S., LS ELECTRIC has proven its technological capabilities and project execution capacity by winning large-scale projects consecutively in North America.
Following the additional win after a 170 billion won-scale major big-tech data center power solutions project earlier this month, LS ELECTRIC has continued to sign large contracts in succession. The wins are also translating into performance.
LS ELECTRIC posted consolidated Q1 revenue of 1.3766 trillion won and operating profit of 126.6 billion won this year, marking its best-ever first-quarter results.
Because datacenters must reliably supply enormous amounts of electricity 24 hours a day, key competitive factors include high-efficiency, high-reliability distribution equipment manufacturing technology, fast delivery, and a stable maintenance system.
LS ELECTRIC Highlights Overwhelming Competitiveness in DC Distribution at U.S. IEEE Exhibition
LS ELECTRIC is accelerating its North American market push by unveiling next-generation solutions spanning direct current (DC), extra-high-voltage transmission, and data center power infrastructure at North America's largest power and energy exhibition.
LS ELECTRIC announced that it will participate in "IEEE PES T&D 2026," taking place for three days from May 5 to May 7 at McCormick Place in Chicago, Illinois, and present core power solutions tailored to the North American market.
IEEE PES T&D is a leading North American transmission and distribution exhibition hosted by the IEEE Power & Energy Society, and is held every two years.
LS ELECTRIC will take part with a 30-booth (278.7§³) exhibition, organizing zones for DC solutions, extra-high-voltage T&D solutions, and hyperscale data center solutions, introducing future strategic products that respond to paradigm shifts in the global power industry.
LS ELECTRIC will place a strong emphasis on its DC solutions capabilities, regarded as a core technology for the next-generation power market.
It will showcase a wide range of DC power distribution solution lineups, including UL-certified DC switchboards, which are essential for entry into the North American market.
