Kyobo Life Insurance has once again demonstrated its top-tier financial stability and profitability by securing the highest credit ratings from Korea¡¯s three major credit rating agencies.
Kyobo Life Insurance announced on May 22 that it has obtained the highest rating of AAA in Insurer Financial Strength (IFS) assessments by NICE Investors, Korea Ratings and Korea Investors Service.
The AAA rating is awarded to blue-chip companies that possess the highest level of long-term payout capability and are unlikely to see a decline in solvency even if business conditions deteriorate.
It is highly significant in that outside organizations proved the life insurer¡¯s financial capacity to fulfill promises to customers even amidst rapid external environmental changes or economic recessions.
Kyobo Life Insurance is solidifying its industry-leading creditworthiness, including maintaining an AAA rating from NICE Credit Rating for 20 consecutive years since 2007.
In their reports, the credit rating agencies assessed that Kyobo Life Insurance maintained a leading market position in the Korean life insurance industry based on its long history and strong brand power.
¡°Since the introduction of the new International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS17), Kyobo Life Insurance has demonstrated its stable profit generation capabilities based on a diversified portfolio centered on protection-type insurance policies and conservative asset management,¡± the agencies said.
¡°Based on an excellent level of capital adequacy, Kyobo Life Insurance will maintain a stable profit structure and financial soundness in the future,¡± they added.
They presented a rating of ¡°stable¡± for the company in an outlook report.
In fact, Kyobo Life Insurance¡¯s K-insurance capital standard (K-ICS) as of the end of 2025 stood at 226% (after transitional measures), significantly exceeding regulatory standards.
The company is also continuing a robust growth trend, recording a net profit of approximately 763.2 billion won last year.
The agencies highly evaluate the fact that Kyobo Life Insurance was promoting stable growth in its contract service margin by continuously expanding the proportion of protection-type insurance.
Kyobo Life Insurance enjoys a very high level of credibility in the global market as well.
The company holds high global credit ratings among Korean life insurers, maintaining A1 ratings for 11 consecutive years and A+ ratings for 14 consecutive years from Moody¡¯s and Fitch Ratings, two of the world¡¯s three major credit rating agencies.
¡°Achieving the highest credit ratings for 20 consecutive years is the result of keeping our promises to customers as our top priority even amidst rapidly changing financial business environments,¡± a Kyobo Life Insurance official said.
¡°Going forward, Kyobo Life Insurance will continue customer-centric management that remains faithful to the essence of life insurance, acting as a reliable pacemaker that runs alongside customers throughout their life journeys.¡±

Buildings Nests as One of ESG Activities
Nine hatchlings were recently found in one of artificial bird nests installed by Kyobo Life Insurance employees to restore urban ecosystems, drawing much attention.
It is highly significant that Kyobo Life Insurance¡¯s continuous social contribution activities which extend beyond simple environmental cleanup to urban ecological protection and the creation of forest trails have led to actual ecological restoration.
On May 20, Kyobo Life Insurance announced that it will expand its employee environmental volunteer activities this year along three main activities — ecological plogging and birdhouse building for urban ecological protection, plogging for local history and culture and the creation of urban forest trails.
The company envisions creating an eco-friendly ecosystem where people, nature, and local communities can coexist, going beyond mere environmental cleanup.
In April, about 30 Kyobo Life Insurance employees visited the Gyeongancheon Wetland Ecological Park in Gwangju, Gyeonggi-do, and installed birdhouses to serve as breeding grounds for wild birds.
Recently, a mother titmouse settled in one of these nests, and laid nine eggs and the nine baby birds successfully hatched.
