KB Kookmin Card announced on April 26 that it will support the High Oil Price Damage Relief Fund to alleviate the financial hit ordinary people are suffering from high oil prices and inflation.
The program, implemented under the supervision of the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, targets approximately 70% of the Korean population.
Depending on income and region, payments will be made differentially, ranging from the equivalent of 100,000 won to a maximum of 600,000 won per person.
The first round of applications begins on April 27 and the second begins on May 18.
KB Kookmin Card customers can apply through non-face-to-face channels, such as KB Pay, the KB Kookmin Card website and the customer center.
Offline applications are also possible through KB Kookmin Bank branches nationwide.
The relief funds will be paid as card points the day after applications.
KB Kookmin Card will provide guidance messages to all of its members titled ¡°How to Receive High Oil Price Relief Funds.¡±
The company will also provide a cautionary note stating that messages containing internet links will not be sent to prevent financial fraud such as smishing when applying for the relief funds.
For customers who apply using KB Kookmin Card, various assistance is provided, including real-time notifications of usage and balances; the application of card benefits and the recognition of the previous month¡¯s usage records; easy inquiries about eligible merchants via KB Pay; and using the funds immediately upon issuance regardless of weekends.
The high oil price relief fund points can be used at small business merchants with annual sales of 3 billion won or less such as traditional markets, neighborhood grocery stores, restaurants, and pharmacies.
The usage period is until August 31. Points are automatically deducted upon payment. Customers can check usage history and remaining balances via KB Pay.
Meanwhile, KB Kookmin Card will run the Fuel Cost Support Cashback Promotion until May 31 to lighten fuel cost burdens on customers.
After applying for the promotion, a cashback of 50 won per liter will be provided up to a maximum of 10,000 won when refueling with KB YOU Prime Card, KB Kookmin Good Day Olim Card, KB Kookmin Dadam Card, AMEX Blue KB Kookmin Card or SK Energy Love You KB Kookmin Card.

KB Kookmin Card announced on May 8 that it will hold the ¡°Manage Your First Allowance Safely with KB Kookmin Check Card Promotion¡± to enhance financial convenience for minors and support their safe financial experiences, in line with the expansion of the eligible age for check card issuance.
Starting May 4, the eligible age for check card issuance has been lowered from 12 years old or older to 7 years old or older due to an amendment to the Enforcement Decree of the Specialized Credit Financial Business Act.
