KB Kookmin Bank announced that it has introduced a Braille service to the main menus of its personal internet banking to improve financial accessibility for the visually impaired and practice inclusive finance.

The Braille service converts financial information on the personal internet banking screen into a Braille format.

By allowing users to directly check complex financial information, such as numbers and charts, which were difficult to convey accurately through existing voice guidance alone, using Braille information terminals or Braille printers, the service has created an environment where visually impaired customers can handle financial tasks independently without the help of others.

It is also expected to reduce concerns about personal information exposure and increase financial independence.

Electronic Braille files are provided on major financial transaction screens with high usage frequency, such as account inquiry, transaction history inquiries, and transfer result inquiries.

It¡¯s also used on screens for issuing various certificates, such as passbook copies, deposit balance certificate, debt certificates, financial transaction confirmation, and comprehensive financial income tax inquiries.

¡°We hope this electronic Braille service will be of practical help to our visually impaired customers in leading independent financial lives,¡± a KB Kookmin Bank official said.

¡°KB Kookmin Bank will continue to fulfill its social responsibilities so that everyone will be able to use financial services without discrimination.¡±

Arrangement for U.S. FLNG Project

KB Kookmin Bank announced on June 4 that it has successfully completed the co-arrangement of project financing for the Delphin Floating Liquefied Natural Gas (FLNG) Development Project in the United States.

The financing agreement was signed on June 3.

The total syndication amounted to approximately 4 trillion won of which KB Kookmin Bank arranged and participated in approximately 240 billion won.

The Korean shipbuilding industry participated as a key partner in this project. Samsung Heavy Industries has secured a contract to build floating liquefied natural gas (FLNG) facilities from Delfin Midstream of the United States which is considered a case combining Korea¡¯s world-class shipbuilding technology with U.S. energy infrastructure investment.

This manner, the project holds significance as a symbolic example of Korea-U.S. strategic industry cooperation and support for investment in the U.S., in that the Korean shipbuilding industry and the Korean financial sector participated together in the development of the U.S.¡¯s strategic energy infrastructure.
