Yuhan Corp. Launches Skincare Brand ¡®THE¡¤I¡¤YU¡¯, Making Foray into K-Beauty Market

Yuhan Corp., marking its 100th anniversary, presented a vision for the next 100 years and declared its leap forward as a global pharmaceutical company. 

Yuhan Corporation is the 11th listed company in Korea to celebrate its centennial.

¡°The journey of Great Yuhan and Global Yuhan which aims to leap forward as a global innovative pharmaceutical company and contribute to human health, has begun anew.¡± 

¡°We will add 100 years of promise upon 100 years of trust,¡± Yuhan Corp. CEO Cho Wook-je said at the centennial ceremony (pictured) held on June 20 at Willow House in Dongjak-gu, Seoul. 

Willow House served as Yuhan Corporation¡¯s former headquarters for 35 years starting in 1962 and was reborn this year as a complex cultural space for local communities following renovations. 

 ¡°The reason Yuhan Corp. has been able to walk the path of 100 years is because of the values of ¡®Progress¡¯ which constantly opens new paths and ¡®Integrity,¡¯ which upholds principles and elevates dignity,¡± CEO Cho emphasized, 
¡°Yuhan Corp. did not yield to its principles even amidst a war and crises, nor did it lose its compassion for the sick,¡± CEO Cho said at the eve of the event. 

¡°Our company of today is the result of self-innovation, having attempted bold changes on its own even in a rapidly changing environment.¡±

Yuhan Corp. Launches Skincare Brand ¡®THE¡¤I¡¤YU¡¯, Making Foray into K-Beauty Market

Yuhan Corporation has officially launched the skincare brand ¡°THE¡¤I¡¤YU¡± and is expanding its cosmetics business.

¡°THE¡¤I¡¤YU¡± is a brand developed based on Yuhan Corp.¡¯s vitamin research capabilities and ingredient delivery technology, embodying the philosophy that ¡°there is always a reason for skin changes.¡± 

The brand name reflects the meaning of ¡°a reason to be happier¡± and ¡°obtaining a reason,¡± and the English name ¡°THE¡¤I¡¤YU¡± was adopted to appeal to consumers in the global market. 

The first product line unveiled with the brand launch is the VITA EXOSOME 8000 series, a vitamin-based skincare line. 

The core ingredient, VITA EXOSOME 8000, is an original formula combining eight vitamins with exosome from sea buckthorn fruit extract.

Yuhan Corporation explained that it enhanced the stability and skin delivery of active substances by applying a patented microbubble method and strengthened the product¡¯s brightening effect by combining glutathione and niacinamide.

In the second quarter of this year, Yuhan Corp. is launching three products — Vita Exosome 8000 Vitalization Ampoule, Vita Exosome 8000 Radiance Lock Moisturizing Cream, and Vita Exosome 8000 Revitalization Mist. 

Next quarter, the product line will be expanded by introducing additional products, such as serums, face masks, toner pads and lip balms.

Yuhan Corp. plans to expand its consumer base by conducting a launch campaign with Wonpil under the theme of ¡°The reason why your skin will be much better today than yesterday.¡±

Yuhan Corp. drew up a plan to run a pop-up store in Seoul this coming July to provide a brand experience to consumers.
 
Simultaneously with the domestic launch, the company is pursuing entry into the Chinese and Taiwanese markets. 

It will sharpen strengthen its competitiveness in the K-beauty market by expanding its business to major Asian markets such as Japan and Southeast Asia in the future. 

¡°We created this brand by making the most of our vitamin blending technology and strong understanding of substance delivery capabilities that we have accumulated as a pharmaceutical company,¡± a Yuhan Corp. said. 

¡°We will continue to pursue research-based innovation so that consumers will be able to directly experience scientific reasons for their skin changes.¡±

Announcement of Clinical Results for Allergy Treatment ¡®Lesigercept¡¯

Yuhan Corporation announced on June 15 that it presented the results of the Phase 1b clinical trial for its allergy treatment ¡°Lesigercept¡± (development code name: YH35324) at an annual academic symposium of the European Association for Allergy and Clinical Immunology (EAACI) 2026 held in Istanbul, Turkey. 

Lesigercept is a novel drug candidate in the anti-immunoglobulin E (anti-IgE) class, a long-acting, high-affinity IgETrap-Fc fusion protein. 

It is designed to regulate IgE-mediated allergic inflammatory responses by neutralizing free IgE in the blood.

This Phase 1b clinical trial was conducted on a total of 46 subjects to evaluate the safety, tolerability, pharmacokinetics, and pharmacodynamic characteristics of Lesigercept¡¯s repeated administration. 

Cohorts 1 through 4 included healthy individuals and patients with allergic diseases who had an atopic predisposition, while Cohort 5 patients with moderate or severe atopic dermatitis.

The clinical trial results showed that Lesigercept maintained a favorable safety profile even with repeated administration, and no dropouts due to adverse events or serious drug-related adverse events were reported. 

Drug exposure increased with increasing dose. 

Blood free IgE decreased in a dose-dependent manner, and the reduction effect tended to be longer-lasting.
