Samsung SDS, Entering RX Business, to Release ‘Robot Orchestration Platform’

Samsung SDS is venturing into the robot transformation (RX) business.

The company will unveil “Robot Orchestration Platform” next year to make inroads into the manufacturing automation and smart market.

The platform connects production equipment and a variety of robots into one to operate them.

Samsung SDS President Lee June-hee revealed a plan to expand the AX stage to the digital and physical sectors at the enterprise AX conference “REAL Summit 2026” at COEX in Samseong-dong, Seoul, on Sept. 8.

He said Samsung SDS will unveil “Robot Orchestration Platform,” connecting and operating production equipment and robots into one next year.

Expanding Robot Cooperation to U.S. and China

At the enterprise AI conference, Samsung SDS announced a roadmap to expand the scope of AX from digital work to physical manufacturing.

It will focus on automating the manual work of the manufacturing field through a combination of robot hardware and physical AI, and integrating and operating production equipment and a variety of robots.

Samsung SDS has developed technologies to operate manufacturing automation and the whole process, utilizing robots based on manufacturing data and automation experiences the company has developed.

Samsung SDS plans to apply robot automation at about 1,000 of Samsung’s production lines and expand it to some 430 client companies whose manufacturing automation has been supported by the company in the years to come.

The company plans to expand the business to global markets after verifying robot functions and operation technologies at the production sites.

In particular, Samsung SDS plans to enter the U.S. market, where Korean companies want to expand manufacturing investments.

Samsung SDS is ramping up efforts to promote cooperation with global robot companies.

The company has a strategy to build an RX ecosystem by expanding partnerships with both Korean robot companies and U.S. and Chinese tech companies.

Recently, Samsung SDS struck a strategic partnership with Walden Robotics on global robotics technology.

Walden Robotics is a full-stack physical AI company, founded by a research team with Toyota Research Institute.

Samsung SDS plans to automate a variety of manual work of the manufacturing field using the technology from Walden Robotics.

The company plans to promote cooperation in the robotics hand technology sector with Chinese robotics companies.

In June, Samsung SDS inaugurated the RX Business Team and “RX Execution Team” under the umbrella of the Cloud Service Business Division.

The company is specializing in the automation and smart sector of the physical field beyond digital innovation of the conventional, large-sized manufacturing process.

‘Working AI’ beyond ‘Answering AI’

Samsung SDS is expanding the enterprise AI business on top of the RX sector.

The company is making inroads into the AI agent market to accomplish enterprise work through cooperation with global frontier AI companies.

Samsung SDS is jointly exploring new AX businesses through a combination of technology and business knowhow with Anthropic, while participating as Korea’s first pilot partner of the “Daybreak Partner Program” of Open AI.

The enterprise collaboration solution “Brity Works” plans to add “Cowork,” a new AI function.

“Brity Works Cowork” pursues “AI work companion,” accomplishing users’ work in person beyond the conventional “answering AI.”

It is to be released in October after developing the way work in areas with high security levels, such as financial and defense sectors can be done.
