Kumho Asiana Group is aggressively introducing IT to accelerate quality innovation. This step is designed to ramp up the group¡¯s competitiveness by making the most of new technologies of the 4th Industrial Revolution such as AI.

Last year, Asiana Airlines began to introduce technologies of the 4th Industrial Revolution to upgrade the quality of services. In order to enhance the quality of its services, the national flag carrier collaborates with Asiana IDT, which is recognized for its IT technology capabilities in transportation IT sectors such as flights, airports and railways.

Asiana Airlines manages big data the airliner obtained via AI technologies that the diverse flight information the Operation Headquarters has accumulated for over the past 30 years, and maintenance data the Maintenance Headquarters owns. The airliner proactively copes with main causes found via analyses and anything that needs to be overhauled.

The airliner is now developing a preventive maintenance system scheduled to be in place next year.

The preventive maintenance system reflects the existing analysis system¡¯s predictions of flight flaws and data on maintenance records. A baggage accident data management system, to be also launched next year, will have an additional function of receiving applications on luggage loss and damage claims.

Asiana Airlines will launch diverse services combining the flight industry and IT. Among the representative ones are chatbot and location-based services.

Chatbot services refer to basic guidance services such as departure time, arrival time and confirmation of delays. Location-based services refer to real-time guidance services being offered to passengers at Incheon International Airport. For instance, boarding tickets stored on apps can be shown automatically when passengers approach departure lounges and boarding gates.

Kumho Industrial is making all-out efforts to develop and supply advanced IT apartments to brace for the advent of the 4th Industrial Revolution.

In January, the contractor signed an MOU with SK Telecom in which smart home services are provided to Hangang Geumho Eoullim Apartments. Smart home services refer to the provision of diverse content items such as music, weather, transformation information via sound devices and the remote control of IoT home appliances via smart apps.

Kumho Industrial has become the first Korean contractor to receive mobile applications on apartment faults to help occupants get fault applications handled as soon as possible.

The step is designed to gain reliability by sharing the situation of handing faults among occupants, contractor and cooperative companies. In reality, it has turned out to give much satisfaction to occupants.

Air Busan introduced a new mobile service upgraded with convenience on Nov. 5. It covers one-stop services ranging from travel preparations to return to home.

The ¡°Price Watch¡± function, the first of its kind in the industry, offers information on tickets suiting inputs such as flight routes, dates and prices. Mobile one-stop services realizing all services related to flights will be evolved continuously, Air Busan officials said.
