S-OIL obtained the top five-start grade in a car fuel environment quality evaluation of gasoline and diesel producers and supplies for the second half of last year by the Seoul Metropolitan Area Air Environment Office and the Yeongsan River Basin Environment Office.

In particular, S-OIL proved quality excellence as it became the sole refinery company in Korea to have both its gasoline and diesel product rated at the top grade.

A car fuel environment quality grading system evaluates major factors car fuels have on the environment and rates them.

It is designed to encourage gasoline and diesel producers, as well as suppliers, like as refinery companies, Korea National Oil Corp. and NongHyup, to improve their environment quality and spur consumers’ choosing of eco-friendly products.

S-OIL has prioritized the environment and customer safety in areas ranging from production to distribution and quality management as part of ESG management.

It is outfitted with an integrated quality management system designed to supply high-quality and eco-friendly products.

The refinery company has implemented the quality management certification ISO 9001, corresponding to international standards, a real-time monitoring system designed to inspect quality specifications in all production processes, cleaning of tanks designed to retain unified quality levels, and a regime of certifying original products and fixed quantity.

An S-OIL official said, “S-OIL recognizes the importance of the environment for a sustainable community and devote itself to producing and supplying quality, eco-friendly products to meet environment regulations and consumers’ high expectations.”

S-OIL ranked 1st in the gas station category of the 2022 Korea Brand Hall of Fame Survey, organized by the Institute of Industrial Policy Surveys (IPS) and hosted by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy (MOTIE) for the fourth consecutive year.

S-OIL posted the best-ever operating profit last year through strategies of stabilizing the operation of the Residue Upgrading Complex & Olefin Downstream Complex (RUC & ODC) and maxing out economical interests.

The refinery company was evaluated highly for supplying a high degree of quality and services and conducting customer-oriented differentiation marketing activities.

S-Oil has been credited with effectively coping with rapidly changing management environmental conditions and quality and services, core competitiveness factors for the growth of a sustainable company.
