Kwon Joon-hak, president of NH Bank, examined the business performance of overseas branches and subsidiaries.
NH Bank announced on Feb. 10 that Kwon Joon-hak, head of NH Bank, held a video meeting with heads of 10 overseas branches at NH Bank¡¯s headquarters in Jung-gu, Seoul.
On the same day, President Kwon presented the topic of ¡°Kang Yoo Sang Je,¡± which means having both hard and soft power.
He emphasized that overseas branches and subsidiaries need to stick to strong communications while carrying out their business activities in foreign countries.
¡°NH Bank has achieved desired results in its global business with multiple branches newly established over the past five years,¡± Kwon said.
¡°We hope that 2022 will be the first year we will secure major overseas bases and utilize them as overseas profit generation centers,¡± Kwon added.
¡°Our overseas branches should make profits in earnest through business models customized for each country that NH Bank entered.¡±
President Kwon and overseas heads had an online session to visit the Hong Kong branch, which opened at the end of last year, and the Beijing branch is set to open this year.
In particular, President Kwon urged overseas branch managers in Myanmar going through a military coup, and those in regions where the number of COVID-19 patients on the uptick, to place top priority on ensuring employee safety.
NH Bank is planning to secure more than 14 branches in 12 countries around the world by 2025. Currently, it operates 10 branches in seven countries including the United States, China, and Vietnam.
¡°My Child¡¯s First Financial Step Event¡±
NH Bank announced in early February that it will hold the ¡°My Child¡¯s First Financial Step Event¡± from Feb. 10 to March 31.
The event will provide free gifts to youth customers (0-18 years old) who open their first banking accounts with NH Bank.
The event will automatically apply to youth customers (0-18 years old) who opened one of the three types of deposit and withdrawal accounts (including securities accounts) or signed up for accumulated products (House Subscription Savings, NH Good Children¡¯s Savings and NH Children¡¯s Allowance Savings).
NH Bank will draw 300 of the customers and provide retro emotional Kodak cameras.
The bank will draw 100 names among customers who shared essential hashtags — NH Bank, event, NH housing subscription, NH Good Children¡¯s Savings and NH Children¡¯s Allowance Savings — after following NH Bank¡¯s official Instagram. The 100 customers will be given Starbucks Coffee mobile gift certificates.

Social Contribution Activities ahead of Lunar New Year Holiday
NH Bank announced on Jan. 25 that its business divisions have carried out social contribution activities ahead of the Lunar New Year holiday.
Vice President Lee Yeon-ho and employees of the Corporate Investment Finance Division at NH Bank visited Samdong Youth Village in Mapo-gu, Seoul, and held a heart-to-heart New Year sharing event with those in need.
On this day, employees conducted volunteer activities such as cleaning the dormitory and pruning branches of trees for landscaping purposes.
They also delivered 30 bags of Korean rice and rice cake purchased with voluntary donations from NH Bank employees.
Gil Jung-seop, vice president and employees of the Fund Management Division visited the Yongsan Senior Welfare Center in Yongsan-gu, Seoul, and delivered 150 boxes of rice cake soup.
They have visited the Yongsan Senior Welfare Center every year since 2020 to deliver quarantine supplies to prevent the spread of COVID-19 and rice cake soup to the center.
