Lee Han-joon took office as the sixth president of Korea Land & Housing Corp. (LH) on Nov. 11.
New LH President Lee posted his inaugural speech via the in-house bulletin board of LH¡¯s website, in which he expressed his determination to dedicate himself to people in a humble fashion and make LH a new entity committed to meeting people¡¯s expectations.
President Lee skipped his inauguration ceremony, departing from the conventional formality and focus on field management.
He toured a housing supply site as his first official duty, as part of efforts to ramp up the execution of the government¡¯s policies.
President Lee plans to participate in a ground-breaking ceremony on the Techno Valley public housing complex in Gaeyang, Incheon, as a first part of the 3rd New Satellite City Project and make an inspection into a public housing site in the Seoul metropolitan area on Nov. 15.
President Lee is a seasoned expert in the city, housing and transportation sectors who has been with the public and private sectors as well as the academic circles as a manager and scholar for about 40 years.
President Lee is evaluated to have the right stuff to successfully carry out the state goals, such as the government¡¯s policy of supplying 2.7 million units, based on his expertise over city and housing and deep understanding of the current government¡¯s policies, accomplishing LH¡¯s reform and suggest LH¡¯s new vision to correspond changes of the future housing environment.
In his inaugural speech, President Lee disclosed his commitment to carry out LG¡¯s intrinsic roles, such as achieving the goal of supplying 2.7 million units, raising financial soundness, supplying quality public housing tailored to meet customers¡¯ needs and build a sustainable LH corresponding to change of the future housing environment.
LH Receives Lottery Applications for 939 Jeonse Housing Units
Korea Land and Housing Corp. (LH) will supply 939 jeonse housing units for which any member of homeless households can apply, LH said on Oct. 31.
The jeonse housing units will be supplied at 80 percent of current market prices to lessen lessees¡¯ burden.
Any member of homeless households is qualified to apply for the jeonse housing units, and beneficiaries will be allowed to reside for a maximum of six years — basically four years and two more years can be extended if there is no waiting list.
If beneficiaries find it hard to secure a large sum of money, they may turn to a guarantee transition regime in which guarantee money can be lowered in return for a raise in the monthly rent.
The 939 jeonse housing units consist of 399 units for the construction of rental housing units and 540 units for purchase rental. All the units are located in Seoul and Gyeonggi-do.
Applications can be submitted to the website of LH¡¯s subscription center starting on Oct. 31, and they can be placed according to supply spheres. Successful applicants may move the jeonse housing units starting next March after signing contracts.
If there are competitors, successful applicants will be determined according to income levels, LH said.

LH Supplies 19 Plots for Korean Industrial Complex in Vietnam
Korea Land and Housing Corp. (LH) will supply plots for manufacturing facilities for the first industrial complex for Korean companies in Vietnam.
LH will supply 19 plots covering a combined 240,000 sq. meters at the ¡°Hung Yen Clean Industrial Complex,¡± a Korean industrial complex for Korean companies, LH said on Oct. 29.
The Hung Yen Clean Industrial Complex is jointly invested by LH, KIND, KBI Construction, Shinhan Bank and TDH Ecoland.
LH owns a 35 percent stake, the largest share, followed by KIND with a 25 percent stake and TDH Ecoland with a 25 percent stake, KBI Construction with a 10 percent stake and Shinhan Bank with a 5 percent stake.
