DTon 2022 attracts 772 companies, which set up 997 booths to showcase their latest products and technologies

The Digital Transformation Fair 2022 (DTon 2022) took place at KINTEX in Goyang, north of Seoul, from Oct. 18 to Oct. 21. 

A combined 772 companies set up 997 booths to showcase their latest products and technologies at the fair. 

Among the exhibits on display were digital manufacturing equipment/machine tools, smart factory/automation/robotics, precision measurement technologies/smart plant, and IT technologies. 

DTon 2022 was hosted by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy (MOTIE) and organized by the Korea Association of Machinery Industry (KOAMI) and the Korea Software Industry Association (KOSA).

DTon is Korea¡¯s representative fair designed to pursue digital innovation in the Korean capital goods industry. 

Korea Machinery Fair, established as the nation¡¯s capital goods fair in 1977, has been known as Digital Transformation Fair since 2011. 




Vice Minister Jang Young-jin of the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy gives a commemorative speech at an opening ceremony of the Digital Transformation Fair 2022 (DTon 2022), held at at KINTEX in Goyang, north of Seoul, from Oct. 18 to Oct. 21.


In his speech at an opening ceremony for DTon 2022, First Vice Minister of Trade, Industry and Energy Jang Young-jin gave words of encouragement to those in the machinery industry, and emphasized the importance of making the domestic machinery industry ¡°intelligent¡± and value-added.

To this end, he said the government would aggressively support efforts to invest and innovate through actualizing core technologies of machinery equipment, securing future advanced manufacturing AL convergence technologies and spreading of manufacturing service business models. 

Following the opening ceremony, MOTIE Vice Minister Jang presented 55 government awards to companies and people who have contributed to the development of the Korean machinery industry. 

The coveted Order of Industrial Merit Service, Gold Tower went to President You Ki-duk of Duck-il Industry. 

President Han Hyung-soo of Hannz Motrol was honored with the Order of Industrial Merit Service, Junjin Construction & Robot, President Lim Guk-geon of Kunyoung Tech and President Chun Young-chan of PK Value each received the Industrial Merit Medal.

One of the side events of DTon 2022 was ¡°Digital-Based Manufacturing Service Conference,¡± designed to discuss ways of ramping up future competitiveness of the machinery industry through manufacturing/service convergence among industry, academia and research circles. 

Kim Ho-cheol, director in charge of machinery, robotics and aerospace at the MOTIE, and officials from LS ELECTRIC, Doosan Enerbility, Hyundai Doosan Infracore and ETRI, participated in the conference. 

Speakers introduced cases of entering the Korean manufacturing service sector, such as industrial control solution services, machinery equipment prognosis maintenance services and construction machinery remote-controlled services and ways of boosting manufacturing services.
