Incheon Metropolitan City and Incheon Tourism Organization (ITO) announced that Incheon K-POP (INK) Concert has been selected for the Korea Tourism Organization’s 2023 K-POP Concert Support Project.
The Korea Tourism Organization’s K-POP Concert Support Project supports tourism products and offers financial support for tourism promotion and marketing related to K-POP concerts held nationwide in order to attract more foreign tourists and commercialize tourism.
This year, 12 local governments participated in the project to receive support and four were selected, including Incheon, through a screening process.
INK Concert has been selected as a government-funded project for the sixth consecutive year since 2017. Therefore, it will receive 200 million won in government support in 2023.
The INK Concert began in 2009 and marks its 14th year in 2023. It was also selected as one of the Top 100 K-Culture Tourism Events.
Thus, the ITO will actively promote it to attract overseas tourists by strengthening domestic and international public relations and marketing activities, and developing concert-related tourism products.
“The INK Concert earned the honor of being selected to receive support from the Korea Tourism Organization’s 2023 K-POP Concert Support Project as the judges highly evaluated the ITO’s plan to attract tourists and our overseas marketing strategies based on know-how accumulated over the years,” Min Joon-hong, a team manager of the ITO. “We will do our best to make sure that audiences will be able to enjoy the concert by doing everything we can do for safety.”
This year’s INK Concert is scheduled to kick off at Incheon’s Munhak Stadium with popular Korean idol groups on September 9.
