“The Sharp Gallery 2.0,” opened by POSCO E&C in Jagok-dong, Gangnam-du, Seoul, on Sept. 22, has become a regional hot place that attracted 2,200 visitors for about three weeks.

According to POSCO E&C, the façade of the Sharp Galley 2.0 has adopted curved exterior panels and glass curtain walls with media content. It draws attention by showcasing a different mood between daytime and nighttime.

The INNOVILT showroom on the first floor of the gallery introduces premium construction materials using structural steel, and displays a large-sized PosArt (POSCO artistic steel) product to shed light on the values of steel.

The Sharp Galley 2.0 is characterized by not only visual aspects, but also a variety of content. Visitors at the gallery are given the chance to appreciate specially planned exhibitions of plastic art and media art on first floor, 4th floor and rooftop space.

Of late, the gallery serves as an opportunity to look into answers for sustainability by displaying nine freshmen artists, favored by MZ generations, who displayed works made with wastes, such as plastic, timber and metal materials.

Diverse healing experience programs on top of specially planned exhibitions are offered on the fourth floor.

Visitors can experience diverse activities, such as a psychology test “mind check” and making “tea coaster items on my own” and terrariums using eco-friendly cement.

The gallery holds QR stamp tour events, offering special gifts, such signature tea sets, upcycling tote bag sets, ‘Hauterre Elixir’ sachets and exhibition artist series posters by searching the GR codes placed at several areas of the gallery.

Visitors reported having a good reception toward the gallery’s exhibitions and experience programs.

A visitor, who accompanied her children said, “I’m satisfied with the gallery, which has taught children on the need for protecting the environment through diverse experiences and exhibitions, and adults can spend a pleasant time with lots of things to see and I hope to participate in other programs, to be offered by the gallery in the future.”

A The Sharp Gallery 2.0 official said, “Despite of a short period of time — opening less than one month ago — the gallery has had a good reception with lots of visitors, appreciating for invigorating Jagok-dong, once a little tedious place, with a refined structure and a variety of content.”

The official added that The Sharp Gallery 2.0 will plan and offer more diverse and exciting programs to live up to expectations.
